Chocolate Cake Thermomix Recipe

This the 'go-to' chocolate cake recipe in our house.

It is simple (one of those great chuck it all in and mix recipes), makes a large cake and has just the right amount of chocolatey-ness!

Our Favourite Chocolate Cake Thermomix Recipe

250g SR flour

150g sugar

1/2 tsp bicarb soda

25g cocoa

1 tsp vanilla essence

220g milk

130g vegetable oil (or other non flavoured oil)

2 eggs

1. Grease and line a 20cm square cake tin (this makes a large cake so I use a tin with high sides)

2. Place all ingredients into Thermomix bowl and mix 40 seconds, speed 4-5.

3. Pour into prepared tin and bake at 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Test with a skewer towards the end of the cooking time to check if done.

4. Cool slightly in tin before turning onto a rack to cool and then ice.

Thabk's for the recipe!
My cake just came out of the oven at 38 minutes it was already completely cooked. It's my first time trying a cake in the thermie.
Do you line the sides of the tin with baking paper as well, or just the bottom? It grew quite a bit but only in the middle, not that much on the sides. I use the ventilation (fan) in the oven, would it be best not too?
It's really fluffy and not too sweet, perfect!
