Mr Chicken All Over Australia

Mr Chicken Giveaway

Mr Chicken is such a fun and successful series from Leigh Hobbs.  'Mr Chicken All Over Australia' is the new edition and is dedicated to the many children, teachers and librarians Leigh Hobbs met as the 2016-2017 Australian Children's Laureate, a celebration of the his trip to many places over Australia.

'Mr Chicken All Over Australia' Giveaway

The story goes with Mr Chicken receives lots of letters from people to visit Australia so he immediately pops on a plane, but Australia is so big filled with so many big things. Luckily he finds a helpful Koala from Tourist Information who helps organise his hectic itinerary.

Big Bananas, Pineapples and Prawns are all on the itinerary of course but he also meets Quokkas, eats Lamingtons and sees the Bungle Bungles.  He gets a little sick in Kununurra that requires a visit from the Royal Flying Doctor Service but he's OK and back on his trip very soon.

Its a great story, we love how very thorough the story is. So many places, foods, towns and just amazing things that are unique to Australia.
We love it and look forward to visiting some of the places Mr Chicken has been to that we haven't seen yet.

There is a whole series of Mr Chicken: Mr Chicken Goes to Paris, Mr Chicken Lands on London and Mr Chicken Arriva a Roma. These stories have been adapted for stage, received many awards, a best seller at the Louvre Bookshop and this year Leigh was awarded a 'Legend of Children's Literature' and was featured on a postage stamp.

I would love to visit Tasmania. Neither my husband nor I have been there but I have seen photos taken by friends who have been and it makes me want to go even more.

Each time we drive into town we pass the big prawn featured in Mr Chicken All Over Australia. Our family would love to see to other "big novelty things" are spread across Australia. They are a great excuse to take a road trip and get a family snapshot with.
