Camellia gardens is the perfect place to explore for all ages.

Why do I love these gardens so much?

  • They're boasting with gorgeous flowers, plants, perfect lawns, singing birds, ducks and beautiful waters that flow through out the maze of exciting pathways.
  • There is a wonderful cafe called The Teahouse which provides great service and my much needed coffee fix.
  • Their are two playgrounds. One near the Tea House and one at the bottom of the gardens. *However the lower playground is under construction right now - looks like they are give it a big makeover so it will be fabulous in the near future.
  • It's not too far to drive to, it's easy to find and park.
  • Miss 3 and Mister 1 love running through the gardens and feeding the ducks and for some reason we always leave feeling relaxed and happy.

The Teahouse

Located in the very top corner of Kareena Road and Presedent Ave next to the playground. You can buy a take away coffee and let the kids run while at the fenced in playground (my favourite kind of playground for Mister 1!), they also have a takeaway menu OR you can dine in. They have high chairs, drawing activities for the kids and a children's menu. The Teahouse was awarded Best Cafe in the 2012 Shire Tourism Awards and Hospitality Category Finalist in the Greater Sydney Tourism Awards so it's a must when visiting the gardens.

*You can buy duck feed (bread crumbs) from the Teahouse

The Teahouse is open Monday - Friday from 9.00am - 4.00pm & Saturday - Sunday from 9.00am - 5.00pm. For more info visit their website:  http://www.teahouse.com.au/

Parking

There is parking just off President Ave or off Kareena Road at the bottom of the gardens. Both parking lots are free and you can access the top playground and the Teahouse with a pram.

For more information on the Camellia Gardens visit their website: http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Recreation/Parks/Camellia_Gardens_Caringbah_South

This is definitely the perfect outing for me and the kids and if we pack a picnic it's completely free.

What do you look for in the perfect outing with the kids?
