Thermomix Not So Chilli Con Carne Meatballs Recipe

These are great to serve with rice or pasta for an easy mid week dinner.  We've served ours here with our Really easy Cauliflower Cous Cous, check out the recipe here.

To Make meatballs:

Ingredients:

- 1kg beef mince
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper

Method:

1. Mix spices through mince, then roll into approx 2cm balls.
2. Cook in batches in a frypan OR put in varoma tray to steam.

To Make Sauce:

Ingredients:

(to make chilli - add 1tsp chilli flakes)
- 2 sticks celery
- 5 mushrooms
- 1 capsicum
- 4 tomatoes
- 700g Passatta
- 1 tsp basil
- 1tsp oregano
-1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 400g tin chick peas
- natural yoghurt

Method:

1. Add veggies into Thermomix and blend 10 secs/speed 5
2. Add Passatta and spices and blend 5 sec/speed 5
3. Cook for 15 mins/Varoma/speed 2.5 with simmer basket on top.
if cooking meatballs in the Varoma tray increase cooking time to 25-30mins.
4. Mix meatballs,sauce and chick peas into the Thermoserve for a few minutes.
5. Serve with a dollop of natural yoghurt on top
