Thermos Foogo and FUNtainers!

Giving you more options for healthy and fun lunches.

Thermos Australia recently conducted some surveys on playground food consumption and came up with some interesting results.

Two of these stood out to me :

  • Nearly a quarter 23% of Australian parents believe that some children don't eat their packed school lunches because it doesn't stay fresh long enough.
  • Almost half of all Australian parents think that kids don't eat their packed school lunch because they forget about it or they want to play instead.

How do you feel about those two results?   I know i would love to send my kids with sushi and yoghurt and tuna to school and i know i don't because i just don't feel comfortable with it sitting in school bags till lunch time and still being cold enough. I wouldn't eat warmish sushi or yoghurt, not going to give it to my kids.

Yes. A few times now kids have got in the car starving because they didn't each lunch with the reasons of because they "forgot" or were "busy".  I'd love to say well your lunch is in your bag eat it now but i look at that poor slightly soggy falling about ham and salad and say don't eat it that,go throw it in the rubbish. Then i sigh at wasted time, money and food.

Thermos sent me a couple of products from their FUNtainer and Foogo range to try out and i have successfully been conducting my own experiments.  Yes the FUNtainer containers were well received I've sent off pastas, meatballs even a toasted sandwich and they were "really good" and i was happy to mix up the lunch routine.  I've also used the FUNtainer on weekends for after sport food and used it with my toddlers breakfast when she is refusing to eat before we need to leave.  I just pop her toast in the FUNtainer and she eats on the way.
