Kidtopia a marvelous family festival coming to Sydney

There is a brand new festival coming to Parramatta Park for the October school holidays (Friday 07 – Sunday 09), with a smorgasbord board of awesome activities in a high energy artistic playground. Live music; yoga, cooking, science, circus workshops; a silent disco, magical performances, movies under the stars, and Sydney’s hottest eateries, are just some of what’s in store.

Kidtopia Festival  Sydney School Holidays Giveaway

“Kidtopia is an event for the festival lover in us all,” said Cory Watson, Head of Parenting at Fairfax Events. “Kidtopia’s ethos is all about making sure families don’t miss out on the good things in life. We’re planning an absolute adventure of an outing, a giant playground for kids and parents wrapped up in a chilled Festival vibe; and importantly one that won’t break the bank. Pre-booked online tickets are just $10-$15 per person (50% off the door price), and entry for kids under 5 free,” she said.

the festival offers a line-up of incredible Aussie acts both parents and their festival-loving rug rats can go bananas for. 2015 X Factor winner Cyrus is the first major act to be announced, and the ARIA chart-topping singer is bringing his live band for a special set, especially for Kidtopia goers.

Joining Cyrus will be Sydney’s tastiest ‘roots musical for kids’ The Vegetable Plot, high-impact dance shows from pint-sized global award winners The Hellraisers, international silver medal B-Boy crew ZBoyz, and father & son space hip-hop duo Battlebird, with further acts to be announced soon.

The Festival’s twice daily science shows will see pintsized punters getting stuck into gigantic bubbles, hair-raising electricity experiments, bubbling liquid nitrogen demos and fantastical fire balls. Kids can learn the tricks of the trade from Australia’s top circus performers including: magic, juggling, spinning, balancing, unicycling, and acrobatics, at Kidtopia’s Circus Playground; and tots and teens can center their chakras and reach a state of Zen at Kidtopia’s two daily classes by Connect Kids Yoga; while theatrical comedy acrobatic act Children Are Stinky will amaze with both laughs and dangerous feats.

A mini Festival within a Festival, Littletopia, has been programmed in as a special paradise for under-fives with games, face painting, music activities, jumping castles, and special surprises, as well as appearances by Hey Duggee and Go Jetters.

Sounds like a pretty fabulous way to spend some family time these October school holidays doesnt it!  The full program is released in September, but you can have a good look around their website see whats already on offer and prebook tickets:
